Today, we will discuss the two Giants of online graphic design tools, Canva and Adobe Express. Adobe Express was launched explicitly as a competitor to Canva. Both applications have many similarities, but there are some differences, too.
In this brief comparison, we will compare these two applications from head to toe with each other, comparing every aspect, so by the end of this article, you will have an apparent idea of which app is right for you.
Canva Overview
For every professional person, whether a Student, a Facebook ad Expert, or a digital marketer, one of their go-to applications will be Canva. Canva website is in the top hundred websites worldwide, attracting 220 million users monthly, which is quite a lot Besides that, there are millions of downloads on both the Play Store and the App Store, making it one of the Successful tools. They are the pioneers of graphic design for everyone and are currently dominating the industry.
Adobe Express review
Adobe Express, on the other hand, is a tool specifically launched to compete against Canva. Seeing the success of Canva, Adobe felt the need to compete with the already successful application.Â
Adobe Express has a beautiful and easy interface, making graphic design much more straightforward than other Adobe applications. Launched in 2022, Adobe Express quickly succeeded with its advanced background removals, object removals, and a vast library of stock Photos. These are the things that people love about Adobe Express.
Comparison of features
Interface: Canva vs Adobe Express
Canva is famous for its user-friendly and easy-to-understand interface. A person who does not know any ABCD in graphic design ends up doing so much graphic designing on Canva, which is quite significant. Canva offers a smooth and easy way to edit all tools in one menu, and you can easily understand them and use them accordingly.
Adobe Express is also not bad; the interface is very user-friendly, but compared to Canva, it is not as easy as you will find in Canva. However, if you are a customer of Adobe products, then you will quickly understand Adobe Express.
Storage: Canva vs Adobe Express
If we look at Canva, there is no limit on storage; it doesn’t matter how much your data is or how much your work is, all will be saved, and Canva won’t notify you and won’t warn you, and most importantly, won’t delete your data.
On the other hand, Adobe Express will give you a limit of 5GB Storage to save your data in the free plan, and in the pro plan, you can get 200 GB Storage To save your data.
Pricing: Canva vs Adobe Express
If we compare the pricing of these two applications, with having so many resources, more loved tools by the audience, and everything needed for graphic designing, they come with the low price of 6.99$ a month for all pro features and $55 for a year plan.
On the other hand, Adobe Express charges $9.99 a month for the Premium plan and 4.99 per user for the Adobe Express Team Plan. These plans have too many features and premium resources, such as 2 million plus Adobe stock images and other pre-made templates.
Templates and elements: Canva vs Adobe Express
If we talk about the templates in Canva, you will have 610,000 templates and many more coming every day that are related to different things, covering almost any topic. This shows how the library for Canva templates will save you a lot of time instead of creating a new design, you can simply pick from the already beautifully Designed templates. Canva has over a million elements, including graphics, stock photos, videos, other shapes, GIFs, etc.
If you look into Adobe Express, there are not nearly as many templates in the library as Canva. When I was using Adobe Express for my YouTube demands, I couldn’t find anything related because, in total, I found 600 templates regarding YouTube thumbnails that weren’t relevant.
But if you go to Canva, you will find thousands of them. One place that Adobe Express takes a perfect lead is the stock photos because it allows all Adobe stock photos and videos, which are over 200 million in total, and are very relevant and good quality photos and videos, so that they might be beneficial.
Mobile app: Canva vs Adobe Express
Let’s look at the Canva mobile app. It has every feature available in its desktop version, and you can do a complete design on your mobile phone as you can on the desktop version, so there won’t be any significant difference.
However, when you look at Adobe Express, the mobile application is not the same as its desktop version, and you cannot complete editing on its mobile version. That is why there are plenty of negative reviews on the App Store and Play Store for mobile phones
Lagging: Canva vs Adobe Express
It doesn’t matter how slow your computer is. You will never hear that Canva is lagging on your device. It will work fine as Canva doesn’t need many heavy specifications for pc and mobile phones. Still, when you look at Adobe Express, There are a lot of complaints on different forums and Reddit that it is lagging on their device, which are perfect devices, and Adobe Express should be working smoothly on them.
Conclusion
Although Canva has everything you need for graphic design without being a graphic designer, Adobe Express can still be handy for accessing Adobe stock images that are better than Canva stock photos.
In many aspects, these two applications are quite similar, and I would suggest that one should not buy both applications at a time because they are almost the same, and there is nothing that Canva can do and Adobe Express can not and vice versa.
